About Sparks Film School Balham & Clapham
Did you know: Sparks Film School Balham is the original Sparks Film School?
Founders Dan and Donna first began running filmmaking classes in Balham in 2010. When we first started out, we were making films with just 9 children on a Saturday morning, but before long, we were soon welcoming hundreds of young filmmakers each year to our filmmaking summer camps, weekly film classes and animation courses.
We welcome young people aged between 5 and 18 from all over South West London to develop their film and media skills. We love to inspire young creators from Balham, Battersea, Clapham, Wandsworth and beyond. Our home at Broomwood Prep on Nightingale Lane features many impressive filming locations to light up students’ imaginations!

“My son says, “I loved it!” He has done Sparks for two years and is so excited to go each week. It’s a great course, amazing experience for my son to act, direct, film and learn so many techniques and explore his imagination. I would definitely recommend Sparks.”

“My 14 year old daughter was looking for a film class with people of her own age and found Sparks in Balham. She really enjoyed the open and collaborative group and learnt a lot about film directors and film making. She felt very comfortable and at ease there.”
