A Global Platform for Young Filmmakers
The AFilmTeensFest2025 (AFTF) is bringing together extraordinary young filmmakers from across the globe. This prestigious festival creates a unique space where emerging talent meets industry experience, fostering the next generation of cinematic storytellers.
Joining Forces with Industry Experts
Sparks Film School co-founder Dan Farrell joins the esteemed panel of jury members, collaborating with film industry professionals and other youth cinema experts to recognise and celebrate outstanding youth film production. Together, they’ll explore the innovative storytelling approaches and creative visions of young filmmakers worldwide.

Why AFTF Matters
“The festival represents everything we believe in – creativity, innovation, and the powerful voices of young filmmakers,” shares Dan Farrell. “Working alongside fellow jury members at AFTF 2025 gives us a chance to support and celebrate these talented emerging filmmakers.”

Dan shared with us how impressed he was by the calibre of films in the Teens Junior Category:
I was really impressed by the quality of films on display in this category. There were some amazing pieces on display and our jury panel really enjoyed discussing and debating which one should take the prize!
Our category winner was Magical Glasses. We were all really wowed by not only the visual style and production value behind the animation, (the film is full of beautiful hand drawn character and background art) but also a very visual approach to their storytelling: The animation was full of creative choices of shot types – POV sequence, a lovely reflection sequence, canted angles and I loved the high angle running shot! This alongside the repetitive narrative structure, it really did feel the animators had the ‘filmmaker’s eye’ and were commanding how to tell their story – it was really impressive!’
