Movie Making December Camps 2023
Make a fun, festive film inspired by the three ghosts of Christmas
Take part in action-packed, filmmaking December camps, where young movie makers learn all about filmmaking and produce their own unique film production.
Inspired by the Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, young filmmakers will make their own film, full of seasonal magic, festive fun and plenty of ghosts!
Young filmmakers work as a real film crew and produce their own productions from start to finish, just like on a real film set.
They develop their own story and script, before shooting and starring in the production. Along the way, the learn lots of new creative skills, explore their imaginations and develop soft and social skills, such as teamwork and communication.
Everyone experiences the different creative and technical roles you find on the film set. Young crews step into the shoes of director, camera crew, producers, actors, editors, designers and even more as they work together to make their own original movie.
It’s an action-packed experience, full of fun and creative learning for everyone taking part.

What’s Involved?
Young filmmakers can take part in a fun, festive creative filmmaking workshop during the December holidays.
Each day runs approximately 9am – 3pm, although specific times vary at different film school locations (please see your nearest film school for details).
During the workshop, young filmmakers aged between 5-11 will produce their own film. They’ll take on all the creative roles on both sides of the camera, including acting, directing, camera, production roles, production design and even more.
By the end of the workshop, they’ll have made a finished festive film production – inspired by the Three Ghosts of Christmas – which we’ll send to you after the workshop.
We provide all the filmmaking equipment, filmmakers just need to bring along a packed lunch. We might also request some help with props and costumes from home, but these should be items you already have and don’t mind lending to the film production.
Workshops are led by our team of expert filmmaking instructors, who are all highly experienced, encouraging and fully vetted under our Safer Recruitment policies (including DBS checks).
Our group sizes are small, with high staff ratios in place. Filmmakers also work in peer age groups, with children of a similar age, called Studios.
