October Half Term Camps for Ages 5-18
From timeless folklore and enchanted forests to eerie campfire legends and wilderness survival stories, the woods have served as one of cinema’s most enduring backdrops.
This October half term, we’re excited to introduce Woodland Whispers, a collection of brand new creative themes to inspire Sparks Film School students as they craft their latest productions and develop their creative and technical skills.
With courses available for young filmmakers ages 5 to 18, there is plenty to get involved with this October Half Term. Each programme includes a range of specific film/animation techniques and results in a finished film for students to add to their portfolios.

How do the age groups work?
We offer October Half Term camps for ages 5-18, across 5 different studios:
Studio 1: Ages 5-7 (School Years 1-2)
Studio 2: Ages 7-9 (School Years 3-4)
Studio 3: Ages 9-11 (School Years 5-6)
Studio 4: Ages 11-14 (School Years 7-9)
Studio 5: Ages 14-18 (School Years 10+)
There will be occasions when we may merge some groups for operational reasons, however, this will only be with the adjacent studios where the age range is suitable, e.g. Studios 2 and 3, or Studios 4 and 5.
Who are the camp tutors?
We work with a highly skilled and well trained team of professional film educators to facilitate our courses. All our instructors are carefully trained to deliver Sparks Film School programmes and are recruited from specialist film and media backgrounds.
Everyone is fully vetted and DBS-checked in line with Safer Recruitment procedures. We also apply high staff to student ratios (typically 1:8), to ensure of both safeguarding practice and a high quality learning experience.
Do we get a copy of the film?
Yes, as part of our October half term camps, our students work on real film/media projects. We provide these to you at the end of the programme.
Are there discounts for siblings or groups?
Yes, siblings or for groups of friends who book together are eligible for a sibling discount on October Half Term camps. Simply add the code “sibling10” when booking.
We also offer a group rate for groups of 6 or more. Please get in touch to arrange bookings for groups.
Do you take Childcare Vouchers / Tax Free Childcare?
Yes! We understand the childcare challenge and we’re proud to have welcomed Childcare Vouchers since 2012. Most of our film schools are eligible, although our newest branches may still be in the registration phase. Please contact your local film school for registration details.
