Sparks is delighted to partner with the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival for an exciting programme of literary and storytelling inspired filmmaking workshops.
The Barnes Children’s Literature Festival – now in its 10th year – is taking place on 22nd and 23rd June 2024, with plenty of exciting opportunities to get involved with.
As champions of visual literacy and storytelling, we share in their belief that that every child should have the opportunity to experience live literature. As well as showcasing all your favourite authors and illustrators, the festival always pushes the boundaries of traditional literature festivals, so that they create space for the family-friendliest fun.
Free Film Workshops
Families attending the festival can take part in three free filmmaking workshops, where we’ll be exploring the magic of storytelling for the screen.
The sessions are free to take part in, but must be booked in advance.
Get Involved in our Festival Documentary
Sparks crew members from Sparks Film Schools in Wimbledon, Richmond and Teddington will be busy producing a special documentary of the festival as it unfolds.
They’ll be showcasing all the fun throughout the weekend as they capture the magic on camera.
Get involved and feature in this incredible project!
Fun for All the Family
Along with filmmaking opportunities from Sparks, the programme also features a rich array of books as theatre, music, maths, science, art, craft, cookery, football, and plenty more to bring the magic of reading and writing to children and young people.
