This fast-paced, hands-on workshop is designed to take you from a creative concept to a finished scene in just one day. You’ll learn how to command a film set, block actor movements, and visually script your story.
We are incredibly excited to utilize Godalming College’s professional-grade green screen studio, giving students the unique opportunity to direct complex, VFX-heavy sequences and explore boundless creative worlds. After wrapping on set, the class moves directly into the college’s state-of-the-art editing suite. Equipped with 16 dedicated iMacs, every filmmaker will get hands-on experience polishing their footage, choosing the best takes, and learning how a director’s vision is truly finalized in the edit room.
Led by industry professionals, this masterclass blends vital theory with practical execution. You will discover how to effectively communicate with actors, collaborate with a crew, and use camera framing to tell an emotional story. Whether you are building a portfolio or taking your first serious steps into filmmaking, you will leave with practical skills, a fresh perspective, and your own directed scene.
